A Rockstar North employee spoke about the critical situation at the studio after the second delay of GTA 6 to November 19, 2026. According to him, the team's morale reached "rock bottom" after the dismissal of 30–40 experienced employees, and the reasons, according to the insider, are related to "opposition to trade unions, and nothing more."
Most of those dismissed worked in trade union organization committees in Rockstar's British offices.
The remaining employees work in fear:

The informant noted that among those dismissed were leading artists, animators, testers, designers, programmers, and producers, many of whom had worked on several Rockstar games. «Morale in the studio is at rock bottom, even though we should have been encouraged by the future. Trust and confidence in colleagues are completely undermined.»
«These colleagues of mine were real hard workers who had worked at R* for many years in key positions. They have worked at R* for over 18 years, and none of them have had any disciplinary action during that time. They are not easy to replace, and they will certainly affect the meeting of project deadlines»
