Studio Yostar Pictures is working on an anime based on Needy Streamer Overload, but the writer of the original game will not be able to participate in its promotion due to disagreements with Why So Serious Inc.
The main writer and creator of the world of Needy Streamer Overdose, Nyarla, has published a statement regarding the recent announcement of the anime adaptation of the game. In it, he confirmed that he was removed from the management and promotion of the project by the decision of Why So Serious Inc., the company responsible for the original game.
According to the author, some time ago WSS made a unilateral decision to remove him from the project management team due to disagreements, despite the fact that he had been involved in it from the very beginning - as a writer, creative director, and concept author. During the same period, he was diagnosed with adjustment disorder and depression, but, according to him, he continued to work, putting all his efforts into the project.
Nyarla noted that he managed to write all thirteen scripts for the first season of the anime. However, in October 2025, Why So Serious notified him that production would be suspended if he did not cease public participation in the promotion. Since then, Nyarla has not been able to appear at events or give interviews related to the series. The company does not disclose the details of the decision - the author only clarified that he may go into details.
The writer also stated that he has not yet received full compensation for his work. He is currently consulting with his legal representatives to protect his copyrights and business reputation.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Nyarla emphasized that the Needy Streamer Overdose anime is being created by people who share his passion and love for the project. He thanked the entire team - the director, artists, actors, and everyone who helped bring his vision to life.
The premiere of the Needy Streamer Overload anime is scheduled for April 2026. Meanwhile, Nyarla, along with other former members of the original game's development team, is working on a new project, which will be announced this year.
