Several months have passed since the release of the Switch 2, and the console has already sold over 10 million units. However, its owners should not yet count on a stream of fresh exclusives from Nintendo.
At the latest meeting with investors, company president Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that developing games for the new device turned out to be more difficult than for the first Switch. Because of this, the process of creating projects has noticeably stretched, and releases will be less frequent than before.
Furukawa noted that production costs have increased, and development times have lengthened, which prevents the release of new games at the usual pace. He understands that console owners do not want it to be idle, so he offered a temporary solution.
The head of Nintendo advises players to pay attention to the library of the original Switch, because the new console supports backward compatibility. To help with the selection, the company launched a search engine on its website for old games that work seamlessly on Switch 2.
