Ubisoft is once again targeting fans of online games and games-as-a-service. This time, the company is rumored to be working on a shooter that should compete with Battlefield RedSec.
Insider Shiny77, known in the Rainbow Six Siege community, reported that Ubisoft is preparing a new multiplayer project focused on competitive gameplay.
According to reports, the company is creating a science fiction shooter under the working title Scout. The game is being made on Unreal Engine 5 and will offer large-scale battles - probably on large maps. Cross-platform support has also been announced, which has already led to speculation that it is a new battle royale.
Additional confirmation of the rumors appeared when other sources posted screenshots of the loading screen and an early map. But the posts soon disappeared - the posts were deleted from X, and a standard notification banner appeared in their place.
This only strengthened suspicions that Ubisoft is indeed preparing a large multiplayer project that could become a new attempt by the company to return to the race for the Battlefield and Call of Duty audience.
