Given the popularity of Steam, it's not surprising that Valve's revenues are enormous, and now Gabe Newell has decided to spend some of the funds. Boat International reported that Newell has acquired a new yacht called Leviathan.
The vessel cost $500 million. It was easier for Newell to make the purchase because he owns Oceanco, the company that built the yacht. For this money, he received a real floating mansion: a garage for a submarine and several boats, a full-fledged medical unit with a nurse on duty, two gyms, all possible comforts, and a separate game room with 15 powerful computers. Leviathan became the 50th largest yacht in the world and joined Newell's collection of two previous vessels.
The reaction was immediate: some said that he could have spent the money on something more worthwhile, such as helping the oceans, given his interest in diving, while others consider it entertainment.
