Insiders continue to share details about the upcoming Marvel cinematic universe crossover.
A rumor about Tobey Maguire's return to Marvel is rapidly spreading online. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the star of Sam Raimi's trilogy will appear in the crossover \"Avengers: Secret Wars.\"
Richtman's information is indirectly supported by the fact that in September, Maguire was spotted in London near Pinewood Studios. It was there that \"Secret Wars\" was filmed from April 2025. This was reported by a fan who posted a photo with the actor.
If the rumor is confirmed, Maguire's participation will be his second appearance in the Marvel cinematic universe after \"Spider-Man: No Way Home,\" where he already crossed paths with versions of the hero played by Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield.
According to the same Richtman, Holland may not appear in the film. The reason given is the ending of \"No Way Home,\" when Peter Parker's identity was erased from the memory of the entire world. This plot twist is supposedly the explanation for why the hero will not join the battle with Doctor Doom, around whom the conflict of \"Secret Wars\" is built.
The premiere of \"Avengers: Secret Wars\" is scheduled for December 18, 2026.
