Adult Swim Reveals Premiere Date for Genndy Tartakovsky's \"Primal\" Season 3
Genndy Tartakovsky wasn't planning on returning to \"Primal\" after the season two finale — until a \"juicy, cool, and undeniable\" idea for a continuation emerged.
Adult Swim has announced that the premiere of Genndy Tartakovsky's \"Primal\" season three will be on January 11, 2026.
The plot will once again focus on Spear, who is unexpectedly resurrected — devoid of memory and humanity, he will wander through a merciless land, encountering echoes of the past, wildlife, and deadly enemies. The third season arc, according to the authors, explores the theme of \"finding humanity in death.\"
Director Genndy Tartakovsky noted that the team has surpassed themselves:
\"Everything we did in the first season, we amplified in the second, and in the third, we pushed it to the limit. The quality, animation, story, emotions — I don't want to overstate it, but I have rarely been so proud of a project.\"
Cartoon Network Studios and La Cachette are still responsible for the production. A total of 10 episodes are planned for the third season.
