Fans of Bethesda games don't really like it when the company returns to old projects and releases updates or new editions for them. This is because such updates are often accompanied by additional technical problems and modifications start to "crumble."
The November release of Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition caused noticeable outrage: now recent reviews of the game on Steam are "mostly negative" and almost 4 thousand negative reviews have already been stopped. Some community members complain that the anniversary edition "eats up half the FPS"; there are difficulties with launching the game and the operation of mods, including the global Fallout London project.
The last time Fallout 4 received such a large number of negative reviews was in 2017. Then in September there were 3,829 of them (in April 2024, the peak on the chart is slightly less — 3,324 negative ones, and there were much more positive reviews).
The April surge of negativity last year was caused by the "next-gen update" for Fallout 4 — then players also complained about broken mods, as well as technical problems that arose. For example, for some, the game started crashing very often.
