Manor Lords Developers Talk About the Work Done — Optimization, AI, and Gameplay Improvements

Manor Lords creator Greg Styczeń recently spoke with Tim, the CEO of publisher Hooded Horse. They decided to start releasing news summaries of the work done.

Greg gave Hooded Horse access to his development team's internal server and planning board so the publisher could see what the Manor Lords team is currently working on. Tim studied the materials and highlighted some points:

  • Developers have made improvements to the gameplay. Now families actively participate in the construction of upgradeable buildings; workers will choose the nearest trees for harvesting; the efficiency of the wood transportation system has been increased.
  • Balance adjustments are being made: for example, the cost of buildings and the production volume of some objects have been adjusted.

  • Prepared many improvements to the interface and artificial intelligence — now it builds buildings "much more efficiently" and manages the economy better. For example, the AI no longer expands the livestock pen if it cannot afford to fully use it, and will not sell tools until it can accurately assess its need for them.
  • About 130 bugs have already been fixed, various crashes (crashes) are being eliminated.
  • A lot of work has been done to improve performance, animations have been optimized, and memory leaks have been eliminated.
