Microsoft May Release Consoles on SteamOS, According to Former Top Xbox Manager
Mike Ybarra also stated that Valve should make SteamOS available to other hardware manufacturers.
Former Xbox top manager and ex-president of Blizzard, Mike Ybarra, has publicly appealed to Valve to open up its SteamOS operating system for use by third-party companies on any hardware.
Dear Valve Software, please just allow third parties to use SteamOS and release devices with a wide variety of configurations. SteamOS will take off, and your store's revenue will only increase.
In his opinion, such a move would be a real salvation for Xbox as well: instead of continuing to promote Windows with "AI, Copilot, Teams, and more," Microsoft could release its consoles and devices based on SteamOS and significantly strengthen its position in the market.
