While fans are putting forward versions of who Sadie Sink could play, the actress only further confused theorists.
After completing filming in "Stranger Things," Sadie Sink joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is involved in the movie "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," but her role is still kept secret. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress commented for the first time on numerous fan guesses regarding her character and appearance.
"Many people forget that hair color can be changed. But I understand why fans have so many theories."
Sink also noted that the rumors started even before she knew about her participation. The first versions attributed to her the role of the new Jean Grey from the X-Men. Later, fans suggested that Sink could play Mayday Parker — Spider-Man's daughter from Tobey Maguire's version, or a new interpretation of Mary Jane. There were also bolder theories linking her to other red-haired Marvel characters.
Separate guesses were based on photos from the set, where the actress was with red hair and in camouflage pants, but it was later clarified that this could be her personal clothing, and not part of the image.
Marvel traditionally hides plot details, so on the set, the actress has to hide her costume under a voluminous jacket.
"Tom can wave to fans because people know who he is, and when they see me, they see a penguin. It looks like it will be like this for some time."
It has also been confirmed that Sink's character will appear in the upcoming crossover "Avengers: Secret Wars," which will begin filming in London in 2026. This indirectly indicates the importance of her role in future Marvel films and hints that her participation in the new "Spider-Man" is just the beginning.
