Paradox Interactive has published a press release in which it admitted that sales of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 did not meet expectations. As a result, the company is forced to write off capitalized development costs of approximately $37 million.
At the same time, Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester stated that the company is proud of the work of The Chinese Room studio (which replaced the original developer Hardsuit Labs), placing all the blame for the failure of Bloodlines 2 on his company.
Paradox is also not abandoning plans to release two story expansions for Bloodlines 2 and support the game with updates. Loose Cannon will be released in the second quarter of 2026, while The Flower & the Flame is not expected until the third. In the first expansion, players will take on the role of the former sheriff of Seattle, and the second will tell the story of Isabella from the Toreador clan.
