In the process of creating games, some of the developers' ideas may be discarded, and Fallout: New Vegas was no exception. Recently, the YouTube channel Games' Past released a video dedicated to the prototypes of the Obsidian Entertainment game.

Enthusiasts have found a pre-release prototype that is approximately 2 GB larger than the release version of Fallout: New Vegas that players received in 2010. It features content that was subsequently cut or edited.

The materials were found on Xbox 360 dev kits — the devices were sold in a consignment store. In addition to the pre-release build, a debug version (with debug functions) was discovered.

Mr. House's appearance changed by the release: previously, the character resembled actor Steve Buscemi. Also, some dialogues were not included in 1.0.

Researchers met NPC Wasteland Adventurer, who shares tips and warns about Deathclaws when the player leaves the starting town of Goodsprings.

This finding is important not only from a historical point of view. Modders can reverse-engineer Fallout: New Vegas, which will improve understanding of the game's "inner workings" and help in the development of their projects. They can also try to restore the cut content.
