Developers claim that the recent leak does not reflect the current version of the game.
The official Prince of Persia account has confirmed the authenticity of the recent leak of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. Ubisoft explained that the published video is indeed real, but it refers to a very early version of the project — the footage was recorded in early 2024.
The studio emphasized that the remake has "changed a lot" since then, and the current state of the game has almost nothing in common with the leaked build. The developers added that they plan to show the updated version in 2026.
Some insiders claimed that the remake could be presented at The Game Awards on December 11, but Ubisoft's statement suggests otherwise. At the same time, it is not specified what exactly the studio means by the word "show" — a full-fledged presentation or a release, which, according to insiders, was scheduled for January 2026.
