Netflix has added a major hit from Rockstar to its game catalog.
Red Dead Redemption has officially arrived on mobile devices. Rockstar has released a full port of the original 2010 game for iOS and Android — along with the Undead Nightmare expansion and bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.
It is free to play with an active Netflix subscription, like all projects in the service's catalog. No additional payment is required, but the game cannot be purchased separately, so users from Russia will probably have to look for "workaround" access methods again.
Red Dead Redemption tells the story of John Marston, a former outlaw forced to hunt down his accomplices at the twilight of the Wild West era. Although the game is considered the first part of the series, its events take place some time after the finale of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The mobile version retains all the features of the original: open world, story campaign, side quests, and the signature Wild West atmosphere. The controls are adapted for touch screens, with support for gamepads, cloud saves, and achievements. A "performance" mode is available in the settings, which increases the frame rate on powerful devices.
