Ghost Story Games has published a new developer diary detailing the creation of Judas's main character and why she fits perfectly into the game's concept.
The creators initially focused on a dynamic narrative: a world and characters that react to the player's choices. Only then did they realize that they needed a heroine outside of social norms, a character who understands machines better than people.
Thus, Judas was born: alienated and struggling to communicate with people. Isolation makes her vulnerable, but at the same time allows her to survive in a world ruled by conflict and distrust.
The game takes place on the Mayflower colony ship with contrasting zones: from elegant VIP cabins to abandoned corridors for marginalized people. The player controls a heroine with problems and weaknesses, and their decisions really affect the trust and betrayal of characters.
Judas will be a game with deep human relationships, where every decision matters.
