Players will be able to build different builds and get bonuses.
The developers of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era have presented a diary dedicated to the new game mechanic "Faction Laws". There has never been such a system in the series before.
We were looking for a way to deepen the gameplay diversity between factions and bring something fresh and innovative to the game. This is the task that laws solve. We want each new game to feel different - so that there are different paths of development, and not just one ideal build and a set of optimal strategies.
The developers believe that faction laws expand the usual gameplay format. In their structure, laws resemble technology trees from other games:
We adapted them to the classic Heroes formula, which opened up new opportunities for balance. Laws affect factions, providing unique improvements for creatures of certain ranks, as well as the economy. This adds variability to the construction of the army and reduces dependence on the early acquisition of creatures of higher ranks.
Law points will be awarded in the same way as experience. There are sub-skills and laws that increase the number of points received, and they can also be obtained for capturing creature dwellings on the map:
This allows even minor heroes to regularly bring new seals. In addition, the main buildings of your cities give a fixed number of points - it grows as the city develops.
To adopt laws, you need to actively explore the map and engage in many battles. Players will be allowed to accept or skip any of several laws of each rank, choosing those that are suitable for a particular style of play.
