The game has been in development since 2020 under different names, and at one point it was even considered abandoned.
Insider Gaming reports that Eidos has resumed work on a project based on the "Alien" franchise. The new horror game should transport players to a dilapidated space station, where they will have to hide from xenomorphs and elite soldiers. Sources describe the game as "Shadow of the Tomb Raider with xenomorphs."
The gameplay combines combat, platforming, and puzzles. Players will have to rely on stealth, competent resource management, and problem-solving - from repairing mechanisms to cracking codes. The AI behaves cunningly and reacts to the player's actions depending on the situation.
The documents mention three characters. The main character, Aubrey, is an engineer with gadgets like a grappling hook and magnetic boots. Ryuzo has turned the station into his fortress and appears to be the antagonist. Finally, Ripley-8 appears - the famous heroine of the films played by Sigourney Weaver.
The project's budget is $75 million, and its release will take place in 2028 on all major platforms.
