Steam is the best gaming platform with a long history of development. Many have tried to compete with it, and Microsoft at one time did everything possible, but unsuccessfully.
- This is a long story. 2007, when Microsoft felt very confident in the gaming market after the successful launch of the Xbox 360. And at the same time, it undertook an expansion into the PC market.
- Windows Vista OS was released with the exclusive DirectX 10 API. The Games for Windows Live service and the Games on Demand digital store appeared with exclusives such as Halo 2, Shadowrun, Dark Souls, GTA 4, Fallout 3 and much more.
- Then we were one step away from the abyss. But Steam, which was then in the early stages of development, survived and became stronger.
