Recently, Embark Studios Art Director Robert Sammelin spoke with PC Gamer journalists at The Game Awards 2025 ceremony.
He talked about the studio's big plans for Arc Raiders:
I think we've said a few times now that we have a ten-year plan. Our goal is to support the game for as long as possible. It's a game-as-a-service, and we want it to stay active as long as players continue to engage, have fun, and see it evolve in the right direction.
Arc Raiders developers are studying the experience of other games and drawing conclusions, for example, attention is paid to anti-cheat:
Looking at other games, I think there are a lot of lessons to be learned and analyzed about what can go wrong. Of course, there are many pitfalls, the appearance of which can at least be tried to be prevented by thinking ahead and implementing a competent design to minimize risks. One such lesson is, of course, the need for a reliable anti-cheat from the very beginning and regular preventive measures if you have a game-as-a-service. This is extremely important.
The Cold Snap update should be released for Arc Raiders on December 16.
