Valve continues to expand the list of playable characters.
In mid-December, Valve returned to Dota 2 with a major update 7.40, which added a new hero and more.
Largo was introduced — the character is very different from the typical bards that players are used to:
Unlike bards with their usual tricks (such as singing about current events and tuning the lute), Largo serves as the spiritual head of the order of bard-monks. He adjusts each of his songs to what is happening around him, raising the morale of his comrades or, if necessary, the pace of their steps across the field of battle (or away from it). And since he's a frog, let's just say his sticky tongue is capable of a lot.
Valve released a comic about the character's past, which is available at the following link (there is a translation into Russian).
In 7.40, the authors of Dota 2 made balance adjustments and removed several items: Pyrrhic Cloak, Sister's Shroud, Ripper's Lash.
Several neutral items were introduced:
Lone Druid and his bear have been taught new tricks: now the druid can entangle enemies with roots even outside of bear form, and his new spirit bear has acquired its own talent tree.
