To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the «Gintama» anime, the franchise will return to the big screen with a new adaptation of one of its most famous arcs.
At Jump Festa ’26, the main trailer and poster for the feature film Gintama: Yoshiwara Daienjō, also known as «Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames», were presented. This film will be a new adaptation of the arc of the same name, previously shown in episodes 139–146 of the original anime. The feature-length version will be supplemented with new scenes and characters that were not in the anime series.
The trailer also featured the film's main theme song — the composition Sanzen performed by the rock band SUPER BEAVER.
The film is directed by Naoya Andō («Paradox Live»), with the screenplay written by Taku Kishimoto («Blue Lock»). Overall supervision of the project is carried out by Yoichi Fujita — the main director of the «Gintama» anime series. Shinji Takeuchi, one of the regular members of the franchise, is responsible for character design and key animation. Production is handled by Bandai Namco — BN Pictures studio.
The film will be released in Japanese cinemas on February 13, 2026.
