Production of two seasons of "The Mighty Nein" was conducted in parallel, and some of the new episodes are already ready.

The Critical Role team shared new details about the future of the animated series The Mighty Nein, based on the second campaign of the cult show Dungeons & Dragons. The production of both seasons ran in parallel, which almost halved the standard development cycle. According to one of the project's producers, Sam Riegel, work on the second season is now in full swing, and some episodes are already complete. Riegel expressed hope that the premiere will take place in 2026.

"We are working every day on mixing, editing animation, and ADR — re-recording dialogues. According to the plan, everything should be ready by next year, and we expect to show the second season then."

Earlier, actress Ashley Johnson, who plays Yasha, also reported that she had already recorded the voice acting for the first two episodes of the new season.

By the time of publication, the broadcast of the first season of "The Mighty Nein" had already been completed. The final episode was released on December 22. The project turned out to be even more successful than the adaptation of the first campaign — "The Legend of Vox Machina". On Rotten Tomatoes, the series received 100% approval from critics and 93% from viewers, who noted a darker and more mature tone, as well as a deeper study of the characters.

Thus, Critical Role fans in 2026 may receive not only the fourth, penultimate season of "The Legend of Vox Machina", but also the continuation of "The Mighty Nein". At the same time, the final approval of the premiere schedule remains with Amazon, which owns the rights to exclusive screening, which may affect the release dates.
