Renowned Japanese game designer Hideki Kamiya has expressed dissatisfaction with the Nintendo Switch 2 controllers.

In an interview with 4Gamer, Hideki Kamiya, one of the creators of the Resident Evil and Bayonetta series, revealed that he purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 but quickly encountered a problem that proved to be fundamental for him.

"For some reason, in this era of diversity, the manufacturer stubbornly refuses to offer a Joy-Con option with a D-pad. This is inconvenient for my gaming lifestyle - I usually play lying down, so I'm forced to use the Joy-Con".

Because of this, Kamiya even temporarily abandoned the Switch 2, continuing to use the original Switch, for which third-party controllers with a full D-pad are available.

However, the desire to use the new console proved stronger. As a result, Kamiya modified a third-party accessory from Cyber Gadget: he filed down and modified a mini-grip with a D-Pad for the first Switch so that it would fit the Switch 2. This allowed him to comfortably play his favorite projects, including the Arcade Archives series.
