Kojima Confirmed Plans for Physint and OD — No Releases in 2026

Hideo Kojima greeted the New Year with an announcement about plans for 2026. Players should not expect new releases — 12 months of focused work lie ahead.

Kojima has had a busy schedule in recent years. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was released in 2025, and in 2026, the game appears to be coming to PC. At the same time, Kojima Productions is working on two ambitious projects in parallel: Physint — the first officially announced game for PS6, and the mysterious horror OD, created in collaboration with Microsoft.

In a New Year's message on the X platform, Kojima made it clear that 2026 will not be a time for major premieres.

In 2026, we will move into the "second phase," which will lead us to the "third phase" of Kojima Productions.
Unlike last year, when I traveled around the world, this year will be dedicated to building a solid foundation. We will continue working on the horror game "OD" and preparing for the spy action game "PHYSINT," including casting, scanning, and motion capture recordings.

Kojima also confirmed that work continues on the full-length Death Stranding film, animated projects, and a number of special events. In the next 12 months, new games from Kojima Productions should not be expected — both Physint and OD require a large amount of work.
