Material on Mohist: Dengling Hill has appeared online, attracting the attention of hardcore action fans. The Yunuo Interactive project looks like a combination of a well-honed combat system in the spirit of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the historical scope and aesthetics of Ghost of Tsushima.
The player takes on the role of a student of the Mohist school, who, in the late Qin Dynasty, tries to find his way in a world engulfed in chaos.
The developers stated that they planned about 20 hours of ARPG gameplay — as an embodiment of their idea of an ideal wuxia world. The demo shown remains raw and requires refinement, but the amount of work done by the small team is already noticeable. The material is the result of a year of development and is intended to show the authors' view on Chinese history and combat philosophy with a tough, realistic approach to the genre.
Simultaneously with the demonstration, the authors also announced bad news. They admitted that the small, fledgling team does not have the resources to bring such an ambitious project to the required level.
As a result, the development of Mohist: Dengling Hill has been temporarily suspended. The team will focus on a more compact project that it can complete with its current capabilities, leaving a chance to return to this world in the future.
