Recently, the project authors presented a teaser. A group of modders is working on restoring content that was not included in the release version of DL2 Stay Human.
Work on Dying Light 2 Renaissance has been underway since 2023. Enthusiasts aim to "recreate Elyseum and the surrounding areas with maximum precision and attention to detail [from the E3 2018 version]."
In addition, modders are restoring and reworking other aspects of the game, including parkour animations, NPC models, graphics, and textures. They also promise a "completely new story."
