Some continue to wait for announcements from Valve.

In early 2026, Team Fortress 2 fans marked an unpleasant "round date." No major updates have been released for the free-to-play shooter for 3,000 days.

Currently, TF2 receives technical patches and seasonal updates featuring content created by community members.

The countdown starts from the "Jungle Inferno Update," which was released in October 2017.

Since then, the Team Fortress 2 community has been waiting for new updates, but they are still nowhere to be found. So far, the only known plans involve Valve returning to the MvM ("Mann vs. Machine") mode — last year, the developers reached out to modders with a request to create maps.
