It seems that CDPR has long planned to return to "The Witcher 3."
Recently, there has been increased talk about a new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Now, insiders from the Polish IGN have spoken out.
Journalists claim that they have long known about the existence of the DLC and simply remained silent - only one source spoke about the expansion for "The Witcher 3," so they decided not to publish such a story.
According to IGN, "much indicated" that the events of The Witcher 3 expansion could unfold in Zerrikania - a "human state located in the southeastern part of the Continent, beyond the Fiery Mountains and the Korath Desert."
Zerrikania has already been mentioned in the franchise: Leto from The Witcher 2 may live in this country (if the player saved his life), and it is also the homeland of Azar Javed, the antagonist of the first "Witcher."
There is a theory that the plot may be dedicated to Ciri: CDPR could show how the heroine became a witcher (passing the trial of herbs, etc.).
Some sources suggest that the expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be released in May 2026. There is a chance that the concept of the DLC could change over the years of development, and as a result, players will receive (if the DLC is real) completely different content.
