The creators of the new Divinity recently answered several questions from players. Skylam wondered if there is any special moment in the game that the developers would like to present to players as soon as possible.
The head of Larian Studios, Sven Vincke, himself answered this question, mentioning the option for romance:
Lots of things, but we prefer to show rather than tell. However, it looks like a romance with a lizard will be popular.
Head of Design at Larian Studios, Nickhinted at the mechanics, but did not reveal details (players assume it's about swimming):
Something has always bothered me when exploring the starting zones in Divinity Original Sin, DOS2 and Baldur's Gate 3. It's obvious if you think about it. In Divinity, I can finally do what I wanted in all the previous games.
One of the participants in the discussion asked: "Can you provide some small spoiler that will seem completely meaningless until we play?"
The head of the script departmentwrote one word - alligator.
He alsodescribed what writing a script looks like. At Larian, they "break" the game and strive to take into account various options for passing:
The writing process is about embracing chaos. Encouraging chaos. Uniting with chaos. The first thing we usually do when testing our own scenarios is play them out of order, break them in every conceivable way, and see how far we can push the boundaries of what is possible. The moment that brings me the most joy is when someone goes so far off the beaten path that they think we've lost sight of them - and then stumbles upon something that we specifically left for them.
