Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz confirmed that there will be romances in the game, but did not share details:

In many games, antagonists simply exist to be defeated. Usually in such a game, you have complete freedom of action: you do what you want, but it doesn't particularly affect the antagonist's approach to you. In [The Blood of Dawnwalker] we wanted to make Brencis react to your actions as you complete different tasks throughout the game world, when you, say, undermine his operations.
In response to the hero's subversive activities, the antagonist may issue decrees that change the game conditions:
If you [somehow harm] Brencis, you will gain "notoriety." And the more famous you become, the more decrees Brencis will issue to hinder you. For example, he may send more soldiers to patrol roads and villages. In extreme cases, he will even declare a lockdown [restriction mode] in the city to make it difficult for you to move around.
