Hans Zimmer to Write Music for HBO's "Harry Potter" Series
HBO has entrusted the soundtrack for the new "Harry Potter" adaptation to the iconic composer.
The HBO "Harry Potter" series will feature a new original musical score. Hans Zimmer and his composer collective, Bleeding Fingers Music, will be responsible for the project's soundtrack.
Zimmer is one of the most famous and sought-after film composers in history. His filmography includes "Inception", "The Lion King", "Dune", "Gladiator", "The Dark Knight", and dozens of other projects. He won Oscars for "The Lion King" and "Dune", and has dozens of nominations and awards to his name. Zimmer has also worked on television series and documentary projects, and in the gaming industry, he wrote music for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Crysis 2.

The series will be a new television adaptation of the J.K. Rowling cycle. It is planned that each season will be dedicated to a separate book, which will allow for a deeper exploration of the plot and characters compared to the feature films.
Francesca Gardiner is the writer and executive producer of the project. Mark Mylod has been appointed as executive producer and director of several episodes. The production is handled by HBO, Brontë Film and TV, and Warner Bros. Television, with the participation of J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman.
The premiere of the first season of the series is scheduled for 2027.
