Recently, the development lead for the global mod Fallout: London for Fallout 4 spoke with Esports.net. Dean Carter shared his opinion on the current state of the franchise — he is not very happy.

When asked how Bethesda could potentially rethink the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls formula, Dean replied that Bethesda has "gone too far" and should consider selling the franchises:

I think it's time for them to retire and think about selling the IP, because people like the franchise, but I'm honestly not sure it's in the right hands right now. And it really hurts me to say that, because I love Bethesda. The quality of the script has just gone down the drain. I understand that as a company they have to try new things and Fallout 76 is aimed at a certain audience, but not those who want to play a single-player Fallout game.

The creator of Fallout: London believes that Bethesda needs to find good writers:

I think if they stay at the helm, then let them develop what they have. I don't consider Skyrim the best game of all time, like some do. It's a very, very good game. I just think [Bethesda] needs to improve the script. I believe if they brought in good writers, the next Elder Scrolls would be great, and the new Fallout too, but they need better writers.
