ESRB Accidentally "Leaked" Fable's Age Rating?
The ESRB rating for the role-playing game from Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games, Fable, may have been revealed ahead of the official announcement.
In the preview for Xbox Developer Direct, Fable footage was shown with the text:
Some games that have not yet been rated are likely to receive MATURE 17+.
This indicates a possible "M (for Mature) rating.
Among the games shown in the trailer, only Fable received such a note. The others are Forza Horizon 6 ("E" for Everyone) and Beast of Reincarnation ("T" for Teenagers).
Another unannounced game will also be shown at Developer Direct, and the rating message may refer to it.
Rumor has it that Fable will be released simultaneously on PS5, Xbox, and PC. Playground Games has been working on a version for PS5 for a long time, and the official announcement may take place during Developer Direct.
Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox Developer Direct will take place on January 22, 2026, and will showcase major releases of the year, including extended gameplay footage and developer commentary for Fable, Forza Horizon 6, and Beast of Reincarnation.
