According to him, the team understood the importance of focus and discipline. Cyberpunk 2077 works best when systems, plot, and themes reinforce each other, rather than compete for attention.
Sasko admitted that the team could have been "smarter" in dealing with ludonarrative dissonance. After installing the Relic, V sees Johnny Silverhand and gradually dies, but at the same time becomes stronger as the RPG progresses:
V is dying, coughing up blood, but becomes more powerful with each quest. We used this to amplify the sense of loss, but could have emphasized it earlier.
From a technical point of view, the studio realized "how critical a solid and scalable foundation is." According to Sasko, many improvements became possible only after a deep revision of the basic systems:
Ambition must go hand in hand with technical capabilities, and limitations must be respected and used as an incentive to make more reasonable design decisions.
He called the main lesson "consistency": a clear distribution of responsibilities, effective communication between teams, and realistic planning.
Cyberpunk made us grow up as a studio: we reworked or improved most of our procedures and developed a habit of constantly optimizing and improving the process.
The game does not yet have a release date; by the end of 2027, more than 450 developers will be working on the project.
