ARC Raiders Developers Discussed Raids Only for Top-Tier Gear Holders

ARC Raiders remains one of the most successful multiplayer shooters, and Embark Studios understands that to maintain this success, they need to regularly add new content.
In an interview, lead designer Virgil Watkins mentioned that the developers were considering a special mode or raid that would require the use of the best gear:
We've discussed many different criteria for queues. Of course, there are examples like the labs in Escape from Tarkov, where you need a special item.
However, he noted the potential risks:
At the moment, we don't want to segment the community too much. We don't want to put people in a situation where they say, "I want to play with you, but I don't have the required item, so we can't play together."
Such a mode would likely turn predominantly into PvP, which could deter PvE enthusiasts. Watkins emphasized that the idea is not ruled out, but its implementation would require a cautious approach.
