Focus Entertainment Celebrates Success. Acclaimed Trailer Released for MIO: Memories in Orbit
The new Metroidvania from the creators of Shady Part of Me has received high praise from critics and players.
Focus Entertainment and French studio Douze Dixièmes released the Metroidvania MIO: Memories in Orbit on January 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game also became available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
The project invites you to take on the role of an android named MIO and embark on an exploration of the drifting spaceship "Ark," which has turned into abandoned ruins inhabited by insane machines. The gameplay combines elements of classic Metroidvania and action-platformer. The player must explore interconnected locations, unlock new abilities, and use them to access previously inaccessible areas.
According to Metacritic, the game's average rating is 83 out of 100. Critics praise MIO: Memories in Orbit for its well-balanced gameplay, expressive artistic style, atmosphere, and soundtrack by composer Nicolas Guéguen. On Steam, the project also has "very positive" user reviews. The game is fully translated into Russian, including voice acting.
