Control Resonant Role-Playing Action Won't Keep You Waiting Long - Remedy Narrows Release Window
The sequel to Control is now scheduled for release in late Q2 2026.
Remedy Entertainment has clarified the release date for Control Resonant. While the release was previously simply stated as "2026," the developers are now providing a more specific window. According to the company's financial documents, the game is expected to be released in late Q2 2026 — tentatively in May or June.
In the same reports, Remedy shared sales forecasts. The studio expects to sell approximately 1.8 million copies of Control Resonant by the end of 2026 and another 2.2 million or so in 2027. For comparison, the original Control has sold over 5 million copies since its release in 2019.
The plot of Resonant deviates from the main story of the first part and focuses on Dylan Faden — Jesse's brother. After waking up from a coma, he becomes embroiled in a new supernatural crisis when Manhattan descends into chaos after a security system failure at the Oldest House.
Control Resonant was designed to be easily accessible to newcomers — playing the first Control is not required. From a gameplay perspective, it's an action RPG with an emphasis on free exploration and varied quests. Players will be able to freely choose the order of events, battles, and story missions as they progress.
Control Resonant will be released simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (on Steam and Epic Games Store), and macOS.
