Warframe to Get a Nintendo Switch 2 Version - Developers Talk About What Will Change
Digital Extremes is adapting the role-playing action game to the capabilities of the new generation of hybrid console.
Digital Extremes has confirmed that Warframe will get a native version for Nintendo Switch 2. The release is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2026, and the developers promised to reveal the exact date during the next broadcast in February.
The Switch 2 version will run at 1080p at 60 frames per second in both portable and docked modes. Among the stated improvements are support for "mouse" mode for Joy-Con, updated graphics with increased detail, faster loading times, and a more responsive combat system. The latter, apparently, is directly related to the increased frame rate.
On the original Nintendo Switch, Warframe works with significant limitations. The game uses dynamic resolution — approximately from 540p to 720p in docked mode and up to 432p in portable mode — to maintain the target 30 frames per second. At the same time, performance may drop even further in demanding scenes. Now, Digital Extremes hopes to present a full-fledged console version without compromises.
Earlier, Digital Extremes also announced that the global release of the mobile version of Warframe for Android will take place on February 18.
