The company is already working on a sequel to the original game.
Capcom has launched a teaser website dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the iconic Okami. The series' anniversary will be officially celebrated on April 20, 2026 — this was the exact day the original game was released in 2006.
At the moment, the website features a 20th anniversary logo created in a calligraphic style by renowned calligrapher Masumi Narita, as well as a brief message to fans and an overview of the series.
The full version of the website is scheduled to launch in April, when the main celebration program will begin.
In December 2024, a sequel to Okami was announced. The project's game director is Hideki Kamiya, the creator of the original game. Development is being handled by studio CLOVERS under Kamiya's leadership together with M-TWO and Machine Head Works.
