The animated spin-off of "Stranger Things" will tell the story of events between the second and third seasons of the original series.
Stranger Things: Tales From '85 has received its first teaser and release date. The animated spin-off will expand the Stranger Things universe and focus on previously unseen events of the winter of 1985.
The series takes place between the second and third seasons of the main show. Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, and Max return to their usual lives after the events of the second season, but soon face a new threat connected to the Upside Down. The project's writer and showrunner, Eric Robles, said that the animated series will make it possible to "freeze time" and show the heroes during a period for which the original did not have enough screen time.
At the same time, the original actors will not return to their roles. In the animated version, the characters will be voiced by other performers: Brooklyn Davy Norstedt (Eleven), Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (Max), Luca Diaz (Mike), Elijah Williams (Lucas), Benjamin Plessala (Will), Brett Gibson (Hopper), and Jeremy Jordan (Steve). Odessa A'zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips have also joined the cast.
The premiere of the animated series "Tales From '85" will take place on April 23 on Netflix.
