Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said during a recent conference call on the financial quarter results that rising memory costs will not have a significant impact on the company’s performance in the current fiscal year (ending in March 2026). According to him, Nintendo is better protected from this price surge than some competitors.
Answering a question about a possible price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2, Furukawa stressed that the company will “carefully consider this issue”, taking into account a whole range of factors:
- the level of user adoption of the platform
- current sales trends
- cost structure
- profitability
- market conditions and other circumstances
He noted that at the moment no decision has been made on adjusting the price.
