Will the New Xbox Be Delayed Alongside the PS6? Bad News Has Emerged

The future of Xbox is gradually becoming clearer. According to the latest expert reports, including those from Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, the next generation of Xbox will have to wait at least until the end of 2027.

This is the most optimistic scenario, although 2028 is increasingly being cited as the more realistic date. Microsoft plans to make the console a "full-fledged Windows computer," which could completely change perceptions of console gaming.

The main problem could be a shortage of components. According to Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, the industry is facing a shortage of RAM, which is being heavily purchased by the artificial intelligence sector. The "memory apocalypse" calls a 2027 release into question — Microsoft needs to secure sufficient chip supplies to avoid the availability issues seen with the current generation.

Fans are hoping for November 15, 2026: Xbox's 25th anniversary would be a symbolic date for the first official presentation, even if the release takes place later. According to rumors, PlayStation 6 will have to wait even longer than the new Xbox.
