Animal Crossing: New Horizons remains the leader of the cozy genre, with sales of more than 48 million copies worldwide. Tencent intends to challenge Nintendo with its own game.
Animula Nook impressed with its graphics back in September 2025, when Tencent showed the first gameplay trailer. Now the "life simulator" is preparing for alpha testing.
Tencent is inviting players to register to take part in the tests on the official website. Initially, the tests will take place only on PC via Steam, possibly as early as this week. Later, the game will be released on PS5 and Switch 2, and on PC it will also be available in the Epic Games Store.
A new trailer accompanies the announcement. The company reports that Animula Nook has already gathered more than 5.18 million registered users awaiting the release.
