As a result, only the reworked and expanded Driving Academy mode will remain in the single-player part.
In an official statement, KUNOS says:
After careful analysis and many discussions, we have made the decision to abandon the current career mode and economic systems in the game.
This means that features such as XP, virtual currency, and economy-based progression will no longer be part of the gameplay.
This decision was not made hastily and will allow us to focus on creating a more transparent and authentic experience that better reflects the values of our community and supports the long-term vision of the game.
The decision has already affected the rating of Assetto Corsa EVO on Steam: the average score has dropped to "mixed", and the proportion of positive reviews in the last month is only 23%. Some players directly state that they feel deceived — early access was bought with the expectation of the appearance of a career mode.
Currently, Assetto Corsa EVO is shifting towards free riding on public roads. Later, the game will also be released on consoles — PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
