Ironwood Studios has confirmed the commercial success of Pacific Drive. The game has sold 1.5 million copies, allowing them to close an initial funding round with Lifelike Capital.
The studio already has $4 million for the next project.
Part of the success was ensured by PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions: more than 3 million players worldwide have played Pacific Drive through these services.
Cassandra Dracott, head and creative director of the studio, stated:
We are very grateful for the opportunity to continue creating games and are incredibly excited about the future of Ironwood. This round of funding shows us a better roadmap for the future.
The game will soon celebrate its second anniversary, and the developers are already planning new projects, while not forgetting the continued success of the product.
