The crowdfunding campaign for the Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-earth board game will only conclude in March, but generous fans of "The Lord of the Rings" have already helped the team raise over 29 million rubles.
This week, the publishing house D20 Culture launched a campaign for the Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-earth board game, designed for 1–4 players, on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform.
The team needed only 10 minutes to fulfill the main goal of this event — to raise $50,000 (3,872,143 rubles). With 28 days left in the campaign, the developers already have $375,443 (29,075,383 rubles) in their coffers.
Thanks to the additional funds, the project will now feature new armor — Gondorian, Rohirrim, Lothlórien, and Khazad-dûm, a new playable character — Arwen, and Barad-dûr tokens.
In Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-earth, along with members of the Fellowship of the Ring, players will visit randomized locations in Middle-earth, participate in dangerous adventures, acquire equipment, and fight legendary enemies.
A game in this board game, lasting approximately 90 minutes, is divided into three stages: exploration, trial, and the final battle with the Curse of Durin (the last of Morgoth's surviving Balrogs).
Currently, the basic box of Lord of the Rings: Foes of Middle-earth with a Balrog miniature can be pre-ordered for $159 (12,313 rubles), the "Saruman" expansion — for $109 (8,441 rubles), and the "All Inclusive" set — for $349 (27,027 rubles). The board game will reach buyers in June 2027.
