The project will tell about the events long before the first season of the original series.
The Broadway production "Stranger Things: The First Shadow", a prequel to the original series, is planned to be filmed for streaming. According to Collider, the play will be filmed from February 10 to 14 and will be conducted with the participation of the Broadway cast.
This means that the main role of Henry Creel, the future Vecna, will be played again by Louis McCartney. The project also involves Gabriel Neveah as Patty Newby, T. R. Knight as Victor Creel, and Alex Bro as Dr. Brenner.
The action of "The First Shadow" takes place in 1959, when Henry Creel was in school with the future heroes of the series — Jim Hopper and Joyce Maldonado (later Byers). The story explores the origin of Creel's abilities and the early experiments of Dr. Brenner, which eventually led to the creation of the project in Hawkins.
It is assumed that in this way Netflix intends to further clarify certain moments of the final season of the series.
The premiere date has not yet been announced.
