Sony Pictures Animation President Kristine Belson has confirmed that the studio is working on two spin-offs of the expanded "Spider-Verse." In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she stated that both projects are in active development: "I can't reveal details, but we are indeed working on both films."
In the same interview, Belson and studio co-head Damien de Froberville discussed the status of the third installment in the "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" series, which is still in production. According to de Froberville, the visual style of the film is "literally mind-blowing."
The executives noted that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller continue to be actively involved in the franchise, despite their involvement in the "Project Hail Mary" project with Ryan Gosling. To speed up the process and simplify the visual development, the team brought in cinematographer Alice Brooks ("Wicked: Part Two") to work on scene composition in the early stages of animation.
Also, remember that on May 27, 2026, the series "Spider-Man Noir" with Nicolas Cage will be released on Prime Video, which is part of Sony's expanded "Spider-Verse." The actor returns to the role of Spider-Man Noir after previously voicing the character in the animated film.
