Teela's performer Camila Mendes commented on the changes in the design of the heroine for the movie "Masters of the Universe". In an interview with Empire magazine, the actress said that she was ready to wear a costume as close as possible to the animated version, but the creators decided to modernize the image.
In the original 1980s animated series, Teela appeared in a rather revealing outfit — with a deep neckline and completely exposed legs. According to Mendes, in the new film adaptation, this option was considered inappropriate.
"I wasn't against it, but they decided it would be a little silly if a warrior was walking around in a swimsuit among all these big, strong men."
As a result, the heroine was given a more practical costume, including pants.
The premiere of "Masters of the Universe" in worldwide distribution will take place on June 5.
